1. Project Background
TransGlobal operates a massive regional logistics network with hundreds of shipping routes and multi-carrier fleets. To coordinate these complex operations, dispatchers relied on scattered spreadsheets, legacy GPS systems, and manual phone check-ins, leading to route delays, underutilized cargo space, and high fuel costs.
2. The Challenge
The client needed to consolidate telemetry data from diverse GPS hardware installed across different truck fleets into a single, unified view. In addition to visualizing live locations, they wanted the platform to dynamically recalculate ETA predictions, automatically assign incoming shipments to the nearest optimal carrier, and send SMS alerts to warehouse teams for real-time preparation.
3. Our Solution & Approach
We engineered LogiCore, an enterprise-grade IoT logistics hub. Using Apache Kafka as an event streaming backbone, we built an ingestion service capable of processing millions of location, speed, and fuel-level pings per second from different telematics providers. A real-time route optimization engine written in Go processes this stream, using mapping APIs and machine learning models trained on historical traffic patterns to calculate dynamic ETAs. The client dashboard, a real-time map built with React Leaflet and Tailwind CSS, shows active fleet maps, load efficiency indices, and automated dispatcher alerts.
4. The Results & Impact
LogiCore gave TransGlobal complete operational visibility. Route optimization reduced total fleet mileage by 14%, leading to massive monthly fuel savings. Dispatchers now manage twice the volume of shipments with automated carrier matching. Warehouses receive accurate arrival notifications, cutting truck idle times at loading docks by 35%.
